Scanning 110 film negatives with the Epson Perfection V700/750 (digitizing to jpeg, bmp, tif file)

Here's my amateur "How To" video guide for those people who, like me, want to scan 110 film negatives using the Epson V750 Pro (or V700) Flatbed scanner. Although the scanner does not come with a dedicated 110 film negative tray you can follow my tips and use the scanner's included medium format film tray instead (avoiding the need to use a tricky fluid mount accessory or spend additional money on a custom made 110 film tray). MY REVIEW: I'd recommend the Epson V750 Pro flatbed scanner for any semi professional who wishes to scan a combination of both printed "traditional" photographs as well as negatives & transparencies. I used mine to digitise my entire family photo archive of over 5000 photographs which included 110 film, 35mm film, 35mm slides, prints, positive transparencies and Advanced Photo System (APS) film. I am just so thrilled with the results of my scanning project and using the Silverfast software I got some really accurate colours from my negatives and Kodachrome slides. [Please note the best resolution to scan the negatives and positives on the Epson V750 Pro/700 is at no more than 2400dpi and for traditional prints scan at a print quality dpi of around 300 or 600dpi.] Epson Perfection V750 Pro ==================== Buy @ amazon.com: www.amazon.com Buy @ amazon.co.uk: www.amazon.co.uk ------------------------- The cheaper Epson Perfection V700 is virtually the same scanner as the one I own except it does not have a special optical coating on the scanner's ...

ION SCAN

Buy Now From AMAZON US is.gd Customer Reviews: "When I told an Uncle I could scan and convert his 250+ Korean War slides to picture, I didn't know what I had gotten into. I have scanned and retouched photos and converted film negatives and have become the "family archivist" of sorts. I soon learned 35mm slides are a whole different ball game. I had no prior experience with slides and had to learn how to perform the task I had promised my Uncle. I began by reading information on slide conversion. I read reviews of portable slide scanners and looked at prices. The ION Omni Scan was reasonably priced and seemed to have good reviews. I ordered it and was pleasantly surprised at my first attempts at scanning. The 10 MegaPixel setting gave large scans that were easy to retouch and prepare for printing.(I found out that slides mold and have all kinds of specks that require special cleaning) The slide slot was a little snug as indicated in some of the other reviews, but I think it was more a case of some of the slides being wider. The majority of them were easy to insert and remove, some required a little more force to pull out. The menu was easy to navigate, and the functions are handy, allowing you to reverse and flip the image before scanning. The pop-up screen gave a clear picture and allowed you to adjust the position of the slide prior to scanning. The instructions could be a little more clear, but it was easy to figure out the functions with a little trial and error. I ...

SlideSnap Pro Rapid Slide Scanner

slidesnappro.com Background music by my insanely talented brother Ezra The Slidesnap Pro is a marriage of technology new and old. It leverages the concept of "Slide Reproduction by Photography" for fast and faithful slide scans. A Digital SLR camera (Nikon or Canon) and a suitable macro lens are all that is needed. Attach the camera to the mount, activate remote shutter trigger, load a carousel of slides and hit start. The resolution of the scan is limited only by your camera's ability. The Kodak projectors at the heart of every unit were designed with professional use in mind. Their slide advance mechanism is, to this day, an unrivaled marvel of clock-like precision. We build every unit to order in house here in Appleton WI ( USA ), so we oversee every step of production. The projectors undergo extensive modification, and are then outfitted with a custom camera mount, light / power supply assembly, and control unit. Specs Bright LED digital readout / slide counter Scans up to 140 slides in under 5 minutes. Evenly backlit with an array of LEDs Compatible with both Nikon and Canon DSLRs Simple rotary encoder based control Scan continuously, or define amount. Audible alerts Adjustable scanning speed Built on industry standard Kodak projectors Driven by Arduino micro-controller ( easy firmware updates over USB ) Automatically pauses on batch end (blank slide) or slide jam Accepts Kodak slide carroussels (80ct, 140ct) 120v US Plug

The Life and Land of our Lord Part 1

There are 4 parts of this lecture. This is a digital "movie" file I made from my grandfather Rev. Dr. Orville H. McKay 35mm slides and real to real tape that I found in his apartment and "inherited" after his death in September 2010. I believe he took the pictures while on a trip to Israel around 1962 though I am not sure on the date. I scanned in the pictures and had the reel to reel tape converted to mp3. I think used Roxio to match the jpeg images and mp3 as per his directions in this notes for the presentation which I then converted to an mp4 file. The presentation is 39 minutes long and remains fairly true to his scripted directions. In the introduction the script calls for a dark room but during this period I have included a picture of the script book that he used. Some of the slide scenes include; Galilee, Horns of Hatton, a map of Jesus travels and life, Nazareth, Church of Annunciation, Grotto of the Annunciation, Rachel's Tomb, Bethlehem, Church of the Nativity, Manger Site, Sphinx, Esdraelon, Sepphoris, Mt. Tabor, Jordan River, Mt. of Temptation, Pinnacle of the Temple in Jerusalem, Miracle in Cana, Capernaum, Sea of Galilee, Golan Heights, Mt. of Beatitudes, Church of the Beatitudes, Sermon on the Mount, Plain of Gennesareth, Magdala, the town of Mary Magdalene, Sea of Falilee, Mt. of Samaria, Ruins of an old Byzantine Church, Sebastieh, Sychar, Jacob's Well, Mt. Gerazim, Jericho, Elisha's Spring, Dead Sea, Qumran, Dead Sea Scrolls, Bedouins, Essene community ...

THE Fastest Way To Scan Slides - On1 DSLRRemote

With this setup involving a home-made slide/camera/flash holding jig, a computer with wi-fi, an iPod touch, a iPod/iPhone app called DSLRRemote and a computer program called DLSRRemote Server... I can copy slides to RAW format as fast as I can plop them in the holder, and take them out again. I copied 600 slides while watching Aliens on TV. The copies are sharper than from my transparency scanner, and the files are at least 16-bit (being RAW files), and 10 megapixels. The camera is tethered to the computer with a USB cable, and doesn't write files to its internal memory card, so the batteries last forever. The flash is set to 1/32 of full power, so its batteries too last for a long time. I do this in relative darkness so dust on the slide isn't illuminated from the front (which would make dust spots show up as white). Instead dust is backlit which makes it show up as dark spots which are easier to hide or ignore. A guard in front of the flash prevents light from illuminating the whole room when it fires. The process is a lot faster than in the video when I have two hands to do the work. see the rig at www.flickr.com
